Ok, I can't keep this under wraps for much longer. Its driving me crazy wanting to talk about it.

I am working on a rather new project, and will entail very unusual casing, and very nonstandard control of the OS.

Just for a taste, I leave you with a single small image of the case.

here is the PSU I am speaking of. Its going to be very interesting to use.

I will have to make an adapter to take a 4-pin molex and turn it into a 4-pin 12v ATX CPU power plug, and I will have to make/modify a 4-pin molex to dual SATA power plugs.

I know I will be working with VERY little wattage, so I am hoping that this will all work. If not, I will have to sell the Athlon64 X2 5000+ so I can get a 45w Athlon64 X2 Unless someone here wants to do a even trade. I just purchased this 5000+

Well, I got the hard drives permanently installed with their custom power connector cable. and I installed the I/O shield to see how much room I have for error...and I have NO ROOM FOR ERROR. Thats right folks, the top of the USB/Ethernet stacks are touching the hard drives.
Take a look:

I had to take the dremel and cut off the tab flaps that touch the top of the USB/Ethernet towers. but it looks nice and the cut is clean as possible.

So, does anyone want to trade 2 SATA laptop drives( 40gb and 20gb) for 1 SATA 60gb laptop drive? lol

ooh good question faceless. Gotta be hard to get some airflow through there. Then again your rig won't be that heat creating.

well, for heat exaust, Im getting a very good 1U heatsink for the CPU that aparently cools VERY well, and there will be 2 50mm fans on each side close to the back, as well as a slim 60 or 70mm fan in the window that will be going in the large opening. the window fan will likely be an intake fan, and the two 50mm fans will be exaust fans. I just hope that I did my math right, and this 65w CPU will work with the 120w Pico-PSU.

This mod really is my biggest(well, littlest) undertaking ive ever done. My rigs are normaly HUGE, as evidenced by Freshwater. My biggest concern is power, not heat. Its not like I can cram a 300w PSU into this.

If you try really hard and if you believe in it, anything is possible. I believe this also includes size reduction.

Well, I got the LED indicator for the project today.

You got to love free samples. I got others with this one, all of them blue. but most of them use a different style of mount. I think I have decided on using this one, but I might go with one of the others, as they will be flush surface mount and wont protrude at all.

I just come across some fans on some old Celeron heatsinks that I had sitting around, and they fit in the back side panels of the case perfectly. now, I don't know If I just want to slit the case sides, or if I want to get someone to make me some fangrills. I dont know exactly what size these are.... but here are some pics.

after doing some math, they use .96 watts, so thats just under 2 watts for the back 2 fans!

If anyone can find out more specs on these fans, they are model # BS501012M made by INNOVATIVE(branded by Cooler Master)

That does help actualy. It helps alot. :D

My big issue was noise level. The power connector on the 2 I have are only 2 wire, and are molex connectors. I am going to have to modify the cables, and keep them on a molex connector. The motherboard only has 1 3-pin header, so I will use that for the window fan.
