-Rules
- You may enter as many entries as you want, but only one can be a winner.
- While it isn't required, posting the worklog is always appreciated, especially for a before and after shot.
- The work must be your own
- You cannot submit a pure stock mod. It can start as a stock mod but work must have done some modding to it before submission.
- Entries can be constructed from any point in time, not just during the contest duration.
- Contest is open to the world, and the fusionmods staff.
-Duration
The Window Modding Competition Competition begins on Jan, 1st, 2008 and will end March. 1st, 2008.
Winner(s) will be chosen within the following days.
-Prizes
This competition will be giving away the ThermalTake ToughPower QFan 650w PSU. This PSU was recently reviewed and it is one impressive PSU. It delivers very stable power and is built with some great detail and quality. This is one price very much worth winning.
- To Enter: Just post your entry in this thread, or a link to the thread on this site that contains your entry!
Mod entries will be judged on all aspects of the window. This includes, design, lighting, paint, etching, ect.. Don't just limit yourself to one aspect; feel free to take on any approach you want to it.
The judging will be done on the overall finished product. If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
well unfortunately it is looking like I will have to sit this contest out after all much to my dismay, I'm gonna be really busy with school and probably won't have the time to finish a mod which totally sucks cause I was gonna finish my klingon mod for this one. it sucks but I gotta concentrate on my school first also since I'm going to be studying for the actual A+ exam this month to *no pressure at all just $250 a test*, anyway thats my problem and my rant and I will still be watching the contest.
yea Ive been going through those courses since like april, a lot of it is BS stuff before you get to actual relevant info but all I want to do right now is get this done and over with so I can tote my useless piece of paper around, the only actual reason that you won't get hired 9 times out of 10 is to say you know what your doing of course*I don't believe a piece of paper says that* it's an reassurance/insurance sort of thing to comfort the employer considering I already owe close to if not 12 grand to student loans to relearn basically 90% of what I already knew and maybe 10% of stuff that I hadn't prior to the course. probably the only real new thing I will learn in the course is about setting up and managing windows based servers and also more about networking as to which Ive only dealt with linux servers really and very little with networking.
Not an entry as i work for another site, but some examples of our work, the reason i decided to post is because the mod was called fusion AA, although it was named after the fusion of AMD and ATi.. i just thought it was a bit ironic
Powered up, and ermm well loads of pics
Got there in the end, it took some time but I think it came out as we expected.
We remade all of the panels using a old acrylic case motherboard section as the starting point.
here is the mod log over at the mod nation (not my site)
Thats awesome. Was all of that etched by hand? At first I assumed it had to be decals but looking closer I didn't see any decal edges. What site do you work for btw? I'd like to check it out :)
Again, awesome case and I like the name, haha

Awesome work again. How long did it take to do those etches? I was starting to wonder if you did some kidn of acid etch for the shadows but thats crazy that they're all done by hand. Very awesome work, you definitely deserve all the props I'm sure you've received for it so far.

Well guys, I hate to do it, but I have to bow out.
I thought I was going to have enough time, but I was wrong.
Maybe I will get it done later next month.
Good luck to all those who entered.
Should be a good one.
OK, Ive never entered anything like this, but i hope some of my ideas are well received. In this low end case, i cut the plexi in myself and then etched a"sleeping dragon" into the pane along side a 120mm exhaust. the interior is all blue cable housing with led molex connectors. the are twin 80mm's in the front for intake, and they breathe through a custom inlet port. at the top of the case there is another 80mm exhaust, controlled by the Mobo, with a grinning skull laser etched grill. i modified my PSU by removing one case wall. it breathes better now and i replaced the regular fan in there with a higher cfm. Seeing as this is a window mod contest, i figure the dragon is the only real focus. the 120mm fan is cradled in his wings, and i have red "meteor" lights placed on the upper and lower plane. when they are on the led light looks for a place to escape, illuminating my etching. the pictures kinda show it, but if you have a led you can easily do it yourself and see the effect. i used a red tube for these pics, i actually have it set up with blue. the one light not put in for the etching is a "liquid thunder" tube. again, it doesnt show in pics well, but its real sweet for a stock light. hope you like the dragon, i can etch any windowfor anyone interested
**safety note**
try not to think of the price of the part your cutting in half.
