Post Subject: A new spin on tablets
Posted on: Feb 9, 2011
It wouldn't be worth calling it the year of the tablet without some new innovations. HP is enhancing a feature of theirs to start working with two way communication on certain cell phones. I personally admit, I love this idea. I think we all know that most tablets are portable, but they aren't exactly mobile, and cell phones are more and more becoming our common way to use the web, so creating a way to have a smooth transition between devices, is a great idea. If anyone remembers videos of the Microsoft Surface, this might seem a little familiar!
i friggin love ms surface... still want to open a club/bar with it on all the tables and have a choice between halo and nazi zombies (the 8bit overhead versions) preloaded on the table for a 25cent play (and youd be able to pay with card because of ms surface... but id want it so you could order food and drinks etc be soooo cool. i hate that its not more prevalent in modern applications.
I've seen people make similar devices out of a home made projector(using a LCD display) and a Wii remote. If you look at the HP TouchSmart desktop AIO systems, they use a very similar design. Its all using infrared to do the tracking.
Core2 Quad Extreme QX96500-ES @ 3Ghz, 4gb Patriot DDR2-1066Mhz RAM, 4gb Intel Turbo Memory, 3x 500GB WD Blue drives, Samsung DVD-RW, GTX 560ti-1gb Gfx card.
Future Mods: none for Freshwater. Next build will be all new.
no faceless im also yet to witness the application in person. very upsetting. back to topic, this is my input as far as tablet pc... you should be forewarned i have a slight affection for hp/ hp touch tablet
i personally think using your cell to get online is stupid, but im aware that im fighting a losing argument. id still take a desktop over anything portable, and a laptop over an netbook or mini. ill come out of y cave when britney spears is deemed a fit parent.
