This is just kinda an intro thread to this sub forum, i know a lot of the members here host their own modding sites. infact, nearly all the affiliates i have listed are also members here.
So i thought it would be a cool idea to have a section to discuss the sites themselves. I've love to cover things from coding, promotion, design, content, and everything else. I personally love doing websites and coded this site entirely by hand (which has had it's ups and downs), bit i'd love to get into some good discussions, so i started a few threads to get the ball rolling If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
what kind of programming experience do you have? thats the biggest part is how fast you can dive into it. I had a year of java classes first then started this, but i reccomend "Sams teach yourself apache, mysql, and PHP" i forget if i listed them in the right order but thats a pretty nice book. Also if your not to familiar with databases play aroudn in access to build up a general knowledge then you can get into mysql easily enough
