I love #3.
Actually I have to say I don't have this problem, because my hosting
policy states that the first incident that requires support is $200.00.
Mind you, that is an emergency rate. The regular 'within 48 hours' response
is $50.00.
I did learn this the hard way too.
As long as you ARE a complete ass about your policies, you will not be taken for granted...

i think that one depends a lot on if you own your own web host, because then you can just automate the billing process. One of the guys I work with mentioned this article to me after I published it and he loves it when his clients want to sign up with his host because it's just more money sent in his direction for a fairly automated process.

Most of my customers are between $12 to $35 a month.
Not a big deal in the short term, so pick your customers well.
I have had a few of my customers for over 10 years now, so it
all adds up.
