I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I can't get enough of the wikileaks news.
Anonymous has now targeted a company that's been aiding the FBI in revealing members of their group.
Anonymous was able to gain large degrees of access to HBGary's website as well as their CEO's information, Aaron Barr. They posted a good deal of his personal info up to his own twitter account, including this own social security number. They were also able to pull 60,000 emails from their email servers, and posted them up on thepiratebay.org.
"HBGary claimed to have gathered the names, addresses and personal details of individuals alleged to be Anonymous leaders, and was preparing to sell the information to the FBI. The hackers claim HBGary's data is bogus, and posted it publicly on the internet to prove their point."
This is an aging thread, but Ars just published a great article where they detailed how the attack on HBGary was done after talking with some top members of Anonymous. This "security" company wasn't focused on anything they try to teach, from best practices, to updating web software, to desktop software, and even down to proper procedures for social hacking.
the group known as Anonymous is an amazing group. being nameless, they can get away with so much. Its an amazing thing to watch them try to bring to justice the wrongdoings that go on on the internet(and internet related) happenings. Just as with Scientology, Anon will bring to light the wrongdoings here, and hopefully all will be ok in the end.

I love the work they're doing. I think especially with their recent headlines with wikileaks... This guy has been pretty cut off from everything unfairly. I think some of the biggest stuff they've brought to light is the corporate smear campaigns.. I want to know why that stuff isn't in the news more!?

I know. Julian needs to be released, Anon needs to keep righting the wrongs on the internet, and keep hammering Scilons. If it wasn't for radicals like Anonymous, we'd be alot worse off. They aren't much different than the revolutionaries of old, just on a different playing field.

hey ghostly here is that fagbashing church of someone elses god about to get the Virtual bitchslap from haxxors like us..... id pull the virtual trigger myself, i hate these people. they dont realize they targeted gays, a faceless (no pun intended) victim they can just harass, but they themselves have become a target to not only gays but gay rights supporters, and the church people HAVE face, they are on tv and news all the time... not to smart of a battle, taking on the country and all. i support free speech, im not saying they dont have the RIGHT to say what they say, they should have more morals, and social etiquette.
i would gladly end the life of the lead bitch. however, its seems as though someone with far more digital skills than i has taken the matter into their own hands and written them and formally warned them, and the country has to sit back and honor their right to threaten as first amendment as well or it would be hypocritical, as they never directly threaten any one person of the church. funny how laws work against you sometimes. i cant wait to see what ANONYMOUS does.
Loosk like WBC was manipulating the entire thing. It's unclear if it was for $$ or for the publicity, but Anon has called them out for it and brushed them off. I will admit, it'd be a step down from taking down visa and paypal to go after WBC, but I don't think anyone would complain still, lol
