I used google to find some nice red alert artwork then printed it and etched it on to the case.
I painted the cooler master logo black to hide it, then I glued a soviet medel I got on ebay to it. I also painted the usb ports to add a little colour.
and lastly I replaced the 120mm fans with red led ones to add a nice red glow.
Im going to try to get some more done but theres a good chance that I wont get any time tommorow.
CSR, that is some AMAZING etchwork. How long did that take you? Did you use a engraving tool, or the Dremel? Either way, I need to know your technique. thats just amazing

It took around an hour to do with the odd break because i was going deaf in one ear.
I just used my dremel clone. To be honest I just traced it (yes im a tracer) and where it looked too empty added in more detail that I just made up as a went along.
It looked like a was going to get more time to work on this but unfortunetly Ive had to spend time trying to work out whay I couldnt get online on my computer but my server was fine. (small corruption in the registry)
So for now this mod is finished, maybe in the new year Ill get a little more done but for now im going to consentrate on other things.
It took 5 months but I'm back to modding this case.
I etched the name of the case onto the side using a Russian looking font.
I also got another badge to go onto the dvd drive and painted the power button and the eject button red. I also painted some other parts of the case black.
And I checked but to make sure I hadn't epoxied the drive shut. (just in case)
I was planning on painting a red outline around all the letters but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it or not. I'll see how I feel once everything else is done,
I thought while I had my tools out I would do a bit more.
I painted up an old memory card reader red and black but I'm not sure if I'm happy with it.
Using some old crap I had lying around
I made this
Amazingly they still work because they had that annoying coating on the wires that someone here made a thread about but my poor soldering skill got around it.
The red paint didn't want to stick to the silver plastic so I just decided that they would be battle scarred.
So now I'm just going to wait around for some stuff to arrive before I move forward with the mod.
another soviet badge , another red led fan and a peice of frosted plexiglass later
Because I don't have a computer to go in this case and money is tight just now I think this is all I'm going to do with it. I have a friend that might have bought the case but he doesn't take care of his stuff and I'd hate to see this case get damaged.
but with a test psu and my laptop hidden under a desk I can at least pretend I have a computer in the case.
