Hey guys, how often do you leave your computer running all night? now if you all want to be considered good people then you should definatly check out Folding@Home, it's been around for a long time but i figured i would post something about it. In this case, helping save lives is simply as easy as installing one little program.

I've just started a team for FusionMods.Net if anyone is interested. The Team number is 52440 and you can DL the software at http://folding.stanford.edu/

I definatly reccomend everyone checking it out.

EDIT:

Here's the team and User stats: http://fah-web.stanf.....ge&teamnum=52440

hahaha well well well. i shouldve known, but when i read itin my text book i was like o wow, i bet everyone would do this if they knew about it.

we should push this towards existing members as a way to upgrade your status on the site =] ie user/superuser or user/member idk something cool.
i will do this on my own regardless, for the genome project, but if the site wants to host a team of signups, i would rather have fusion get the credit for a team than me indi =] let me know

**safety note**

try not to think of the price of the part your cutting in half.

Faceless, can you check the F@H page for fusionmods and see if I'm showing up on the team?

Well as usual im too stupid to do it, i don't know if you've all noticed this yet but i am almost incompetent when it comes to software. i usually just have a friend do it. i even paid 50 bucks to have my os installed after i did it myself, changed my mobo and it wouldnt work. i hate software and it hates me. i took programming c++ in college and wanted to shoot myself and go postal every class.
anyway
i have the software installed, and when i open it it does the expected prompt (in what i assume is dos) asks me my name. i dont want to sign in though because i want to be part of the fusion team, and i want to be fully aware of how to actively control the program.
right now it shows only four users on the fusion team

Faceless, I dont know why its not updating the active CPU's either, because when I'm not playing a game, my PS3 is folding(its folding 2-4 WU's a day. its why my points and whatnot have been skyrocketing. Abusiv3, ive never ran the Windows version, so I dont know what to tell you, but it sounds like your on the right track with it. if its giving you our team specs and whatnot, your likely logged in. Ask faceless though, he seems to know more about it than I do. I just use it on the PS3.

so in honor of George Carlin... I'm being a dick today. That said, I'll use my work computer to fold for us :D and not give two shits what my boss thinks of it (I gave him a heads up that with there being one less hilarious pissed off person in the world, I would up my output by picking up the slack) He's rightfully terrified of me today, seeing as on a normal day there's no telling what I'll pull, and this being a national day of what I should HOPE IS MOURNING the danger of servers getting unplugged out of spite and processors being told to go the fuck away is at an all time high... YAY!!!
