Post Subject: A case made out of fans?

I was bored today...

I was looking through freeafterrebate.info and I saw a deal for 80mm red case fans for 1 cent each and if you order more that $20 dollars worth of merchandise from this site you get free shipping. So...

I was thinking it might be very cool (Pun intended) to build a case out of fans. I would find some way to make an grid as a base and have it have 80mm square holes and be able to attach case fans at each point.

The link for the fans is here: http://www.eaglebit......uctCode=EB-200-00117
(There are 123 in stock)

(Just a random thing, it could be really cool to do the same thing for our CD contest using CDs, but dang it would be hard)

What do you think?

I see that they are covered by a 1 year warranty and if you made a case out of them then you would have a 1 year warranty on your case which is more than anything else that I've seen. lol Happy Modding to ya.

it can be done, but its impractical unless if the fans are yate loons and you have the fans directed accordingly to your cpu and gpu.

I agree with spoon, and I've also thought about it in the past. It would be pretty sweet if you managed to control the airflow...but....anyone though of noise levels? you might need some fan control...10 fan control panels...i like leaving three dots....everywhere...haha...

Damn, outa stock on the 80mm red one, but they do have 120mm Blue LED ones for $1: http://www.eaglebit......n_p/eb-200-00112.htm Ive seen this done before too, but it is neat, but rather loud.

Yeah, I'd be concerned about the noise. You might have to figure a way to "muffle" them or control the speed pretty precisely.
