Infernal - PC - FPS
Author: faceless105 -- Posted: 2007-06-11
After spending a few to many hours playing a game called Infernal, I thought I’d share my experiences. Right off the bat, I’ll say, this is a pretty cool game. It has a decent story line, good graphics and best of all, it keeps you from getting bored.

It’s a pretty classic story of good versus evil. In this there are two I guess we can call them Agencies. Each one deriving powers from good and evil, it’s a bit cliché, but still it made a nice story line.

The game starts with you losing your status in Everlight, the “good agency” and getting recruited by the other.

As most stories go, no one is that good.. Everlight is building one great weapon that you have to destroy to keep it from falling into anyone’s hands.

Now for the recap of what makes this game so much fun. I’ll start on the weapons…
By themselves they aren’t too impressive…

Shurikens
Standard Pistols
Laser Pistols
3 Assault Rifles
Flame Thrower
Rocket Launcher
Welder Gun (very effective)
Sniper Rifle
And my favorite, the Plasma Cannon

Each weapon is pretty effective and they have more purpose in this game then in most games I’ve played before. There are times when you’ll definitely want to use one weapon over another.

What makes these weapons so awesome is combining your powers with them.

Throughout the game you gain powers to teleport (momentarily), Infernal Weapons, teleporting items/people, and even the ability to devour souls.

One of the coolest combos in this game is teleporting behind enemies, shooting them in the back and before they know you’re there, teleporting back :)

The game play was great as well. The graphics are relatively sharp, so there are no complaints here. One really cool feature in the game is whenever you experience an enemy, some heavy metal kicks in and it sounds kind of stupid but it does make the game feel much more action packed.

Overall I give this game a rating of 8. The one thing that disappointed me was the final boss seemed to be lacking something. I don’t know it if left out a sense of accomplishment or what but when I beat the game it didn’t feel like I earned it :(
